The 6th ICE on IMERI 2021

November 5-14th, 2021

The sheer scale of the coronavirus outbreak presents an unprecedented challenge for Indonesia, which has been ranked as the 17th most at-risk economy in a recent COVID-19 risk ranking that takes into consideration each economy’s medical and non-medical factors, including the risk of infection, hospitalisation, death, and lasting health conditions. Even before the COVID-19 outbreak, capacity constraints have been an issue in Indonesia.

In Indonesia, primary healthcare facilities play essential roles in disease control and prevention. In the midst of the pandemic, primary care providers are deploying telehealth, behavioural health interventions, crisis lines, nurse helplines, patient portal communication, interactive chatbots, email, text communications, and various online teaching tools to meet patient needs remotely.

Many of these changes can be utilised for lasting primary care transformation. Changes in healthcare-seeking behaviour during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially to primary care, might have impacts on the overall public health status.

The Indonesian Medical Education and Research Institute (IMERI) in accordance with Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia and Universitas Indonesia Academic Health System (AHS), conveys this issue in the 6th International Conference and Exhibition on the Indonesian Medical Education and Research Institute (ICE on IMERI). The theme of ICE on IMERI this year is “Biomedical research and primary care transformation: The potential issue in the post-pandemic era”. The same as last year, the 6th ICE on IMERI will be held virtually. This event will bring together a multi-disciplinary group of various professions to present and exchange ideas regarding biomedical research and primary care transformation. The program comprises main symposiums and workshops that the participants can join.

Let us collaborate and contribute to strengthening the roles of primary health care through the 6th ICE on IMERI will be held on November 5-14th, 2021.
